Receiving the governor, his deputy and other members of the PDP Campaign Council in his Palace, the traditional ruler hailed the governor for his administration’s focus on policies and reforms to better the lives and wellbeing of Edo people.
The royal father decorated Obaseki as Chief Ahenhen of Emu Kingdom (the repairer of the land) and his deputy as Chief Akomu-Inyehen (the man who unites to solve issues).
The monarch said: “You deserve a second term in office with your developmental strides in the state. I appeal to you and your deputy to accept a chieftaincy title from us for your outstanding performance.
“We will support you to ensure you have a landslide victory in the September 19, 2020 governorship election. Thank you for the construction of the community school and the road to my palace.”
“The people of ward 5 will do all that is required to ensure your victory come September 19, 2020,” he reassured.
Obaseki, on his part, thanked the royal father for the title, assuring of his administration’s commitment to the growth and development of the state.
The governor said: “We are aware that the people of Esan South East have similar problems, including roads, schools, electricity, security and erosion; we are working tirelessly and doing everything possible to address the issues.
“If I can construct Iselu-Okiagben Road, I will definitely construct Emu Road. All you need to do is to come out and vote for the PDP in the September 19, 2020 gubernatorial election.”
